Job summary

Allina Health in Shakopee, MN, seeks a Nurse Anesthetist to provide comprehensive anesthesia care across multiple operating rooms. The role includes pre-anesthesia assessment, airway management, and intraoperative anesthesia techniques, with 24/7 in-house medical direction and no call requirement.

Collaborates with the anesthesia team, mentors learners, and supports peri-anesthesia services to ensure patient safety and smooth recovery from anesthesia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree Graduate of accredited nursing program required.
• Master's degree Graduate of Nurse Anesthetist program required.
• Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
• Registered Nurse Anesthetist - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
• ACLS/BLS Tier 2-Advanced Cardiac Life Support - Multisource required upon hire.
• PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - Multisource required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Provides Anesthesia care including pre-anesthesia assessment and evaluation of patient, reviews orders and obtains informed consent.
• Manages airway and cardiopulmonary status to maintain physiologic condition.
• Initiates anesthetic technique (general, regional, local, or sedation) and facilitates emergence and recovery.
• Discharges patient with summary of history and events.
• Inserts peripheral/arterial catheters and participates in CPR as needed.
• Precepts and mentors students/orientees and assists in improvement processes.

Education

Bachelor's degree Graduate of accredited nursing program

Master's degree Graduate of Nurse Anesthetist program
