Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing is required.
• Valid Florida RN/CRNA license or eligibility to practice as CRNA.
• National Board Certification by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA).
• American Heart Association BLS/ACLS/PALS may be required at unit level upon hire with ongoing maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Participates and documents pre-anesthetic preparation and evaluation.
• Formulates a patient-specific anesthesia plan with the attending anesthesiologist.
• Monitors and adjusts the patient’s physiologic condition for the chosen anesthesia.
• Recognizes abnormal patient responses and takes appropriate action.
• Performs in a high-stress environment, prioritizes actions to ensure patient safety.
• Provides anesthesia reports to recovery room staff as required.
• Ensures continuity of care postoperatively and transfers care when needed.
• Assists with professional development of self and others and acts as a clinical educator.
