Job summary

University of Maryland School of Medicine’s Department of Anesthesiology seeks CRNAs to provide expert anesthesia care in collaboration with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare providers. The role supports education, safety, quality, and research missions, serving patients across all acuity levels in diverse settings, with opportunities in obstetrics and regional anesthesia.

The position offers a competitive base salary range ($230,000.00 to $257,000.00) and a comprehensive total

Qualifications

Graduate of accredited nursing program and accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Two years anesthesia care in acute setting preferred but not required.
Valid state APRN recognition within six months of hire.
CRNA certification by AANA at employment start date.
Current ACLS and BLS by the American Heart Association.
NPI and taxonomy code required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

Provides pre-anesthetic preparation and patient evaluation; recommends and evaluates pertinent diagnostic studies and obtains informed consent for anesthesia.
Develops and implements an individualized anesthetic plan of care and initiates planned anesthesia technique; may perform regional anesthesia.
Provides anesthesia induction, mechanical ventilation maintenance, emergence, and postoperative care.
Monitors patient using current standards and techniques for peri-anesthetic care.
Manages fluids, electrolytes, and acid–base balance; communicates changes to attending physicians.
Responds to emergencies with airway management and ACLS/BLS as needed.
