Job summary
Northwestern Medicine seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to provide high‑quality anesthesia care in inpatient and expanded outpatient settings. The CRNA will collaborate with staff anesthesiologists and may participate in research, student education, and leadership activities within the department.
The role requires a master’s degree in nursing, Illinois APRN and RN licenses, NBCRNA certification, and BLS/ACLS.
Qualifications
- Minimum of master’s degree in nursing from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
- APRNs licensed in Illinois and RN licensed in Illinois.
- NBCRNA certification in good standing.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required or current.
- Experience in perioperative anesthesia care is preferred.
- Active involvement with professional anesthesia organizations is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Select equipment and prepare room setup for patient needs, ensuring efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Ensure preoperative documentation is complete and coordinate plan of care with anesthesia team.
- Manage anesthesia care based on patient response and consult with team as needed.
- Provide complete intraoperative and postoperative documentation accurately.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
