Job summary

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist seeks a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join the Davie Medical Center anesthesia team. You will provide pediatric anesthesia, collaborate with surgeons and the care team, and mentor student nurses. The role supports a patient-centered approach within a faith-based, high-volume system.

The position emphasizes professional development, teamwork, and dedication to safety while delivering high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesia is required.
• Active North Carolina RN license and current certification to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist.
• Current CPR, ACLS, BLS certification and clinical competency.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia for pediatric procedures with patient safety as a priority.
• Precept student nurse anesthetists and mentor learners.
• Collaborate with medical team for effective team-based care and plan peri-operative anesthesia.

Davie Medical Center offers a variety of anesthesia services, including but not limited to: Orthopedics, Total Joints, Neuro-Spine, Hand, Ophthalmology, Podiatry, And Gastroenterology.

What You’ll Do:

As a valued member of our healthcare team, the CRNA will play a key role in team-focused patient care, providing anesthesia using safe and quality techniques during Pediatric Procedures. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Potential for and encouraged to precept Student Nurse Anesthetists – opportunity to mentor and assess these medical students.
• Uses medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan to ensure peri-operative and anesthesia care, being sensitive to co-morbidities and age & developmental guidelines.
• Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care;
• Uphold patient safety, drive quality improvement, and promote infection prevention within job responsibilities and initiatives.
• Document and maintain patient records in compliance with hospital standards, ensuring confidentiality.
• Maintain scheduling flexibility, readiness, and punctuality to deliver timely patient care.
• Exhibit professionalism through teamwork, collaboration, and a commitment to ongoing professional development
• Contribute to cost containment efforts by conserving resources.

The clinician functions under the regulatory mandate from their respective licensing organization (North Carolina Medical Board or North Carolina Board of Nursing) with departmental specific credentialing from the institution.

CRNA Requirements:

• Graduation of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, Master’s Degree or Higher Required.
• Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing + Currently Certified or Recertified to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board
• Current CPR Certification – ACLS, BLS
• Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse clinical teams.
