CRNA Requirements

• Graduation of an Accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program, Master’s Degree or Higher Required.
• Registered Nurse licensure from the State of North Carolina Board of Nursing + Currently Certified or Recertified to practice as a Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board
• Current CPR Certification – ACLS, BLS
• Ability to demonstrate clinical competency within the scope of granted privileges.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with diverse clinical teams.

The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) that functions at a medical level of care to provide anesthesia, analgesia, and pain management services across the patient lifespan in a variety of settings. Clinical responsibilities may include ambulatory, surgery center and/or hospital anesthesia services. The CRNA participates as part of an interdisciplinary team to provide safe, high quality, cost effective, and evidenced-based care. The CRNA demonstrates the highest levels of professionalism and upholds the missions, visions, and values of Advocate Health.
