Job Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW

This job provides anesthetic care for patients in the surgical setting.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Assess, plan, evaluate, and implement anesthetic management for all patients presenting for anesthesia care. Provide accurate medical record documentation. (45%)
  2. Provide continuous observation of patients under anesthetic care and correct abnormal patient responses. Collaborate with attending physicians regarding plan of care and clinical decisions outside the CRNA's scope. (35%)
  3. Participate in, develop, and implement performance and/or quality improvement initiatives. (10%)
  4. Adhere to legal and ethical standards of nursing and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Follow safety standards and ensure compliance with regulatory agencies. (5%)
  5. Act as a clinical resource to the interdisciplinary healthcare team. May serve as a mentor to new staff or students. (5%)
  6. Perform other duties as assigned or required.
Qualifications
Minimum
  • Current PA RN license
  • Certification as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists
  • CPR – American Heart Association
  • Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance Certificate
  • Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance Certificate
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
Preferred
  • Previous CRNA experience
