Qualifications
Must hold a current license as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the State of Texas Board of Nursing.
Certification as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) is required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is also required.
Responsibilities
Administers all forms of anesthesia for surgical or medical procedures.
Assesses and evaluates patients before anesthesia administration.
Inserts and uses invasive and noninvasive monitors as necessary.
Responds to emergency situations for airway management.
Documents anesthetic information and patient condition.
May supervise student registered nurse anesthetists.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
