CRNA / Anesthesiology / Louisiana / Locum or Permanent / CRNA, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist Salary - Imperial Surgical Center - Full Time Job

Description Summary: The CRNA is responsible for providing advanced nursing practice by administering anesthesia to patients. This role involves preparing and administering anesthesia agents to surgical and obstetrical patients under a delegating physician. The Medical Director holds the ultimate responsibility for anesthesia services. The CRNA's duties include:

  1. Assessing patients peri-operatively, performing patient history and physicals, reviewing records and diagnostic results.
  2. Performing post-op rounds and providing patient and family education.
  3. Performing routine procedures such as drawing blood, administering various types of anesthesia, placing NG tubes, and placing central lines.
  4. Providing regional anesthesia under a physician, including spinal, epidural, and peripheral blocks.
  5. Initiating and transcribing orders from collaborating physicians.
  6. Managing IV access, fluids, blood products, and medications.
  7. Handling mechanical ventilation, resuscitation, cardiopulmonary bypass, auto transfusion, and temperature management.

Responsibilities:
  1. Meet competency expectations in leadership and patient care assessment.
  2. Evaluate physical, psycho-social, spiritual, cultural, and functional needs of patients.
  3. Collaborate with the care team to develop and monitor care plans.
  4. Perform peri-operative monitoring and patient rounds.
  5. Manage anesthesia including regional techniques and sedation.
  6. Ensure infection control, safety practices, and proper equipment handling.
  7. Administer medications safely, respecting patient rights and privacy.
Job Requirements:
  1. Master of Science in Nursing required.
  2. 2-3 years of experience preferred.
  3. APRNs must hold a license in the state of employment.
  4. CRNA certification from NBCRNA required.
  5. ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications required.

Work Schedule: 5 days a week, 8 hours per day.
