Job summary

Moffitt Cancer Center in Florida seeks a Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) or Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA) for a non-benefitted PRN or variable day/ hours position in the Anesthesiology Department. Hourly rate is $170. Shifts may be 8, 10, or 12 hours and may extend to meet patient needs.

The successful candidate will provide anesthesia care under physician supervision, work within protocols, and rotate for late call or at-home call as required.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• Training aligned with American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA) or Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants approved program.

Responsibilities

• Perform preoperative anesthetic evaluation thoroughly.
• Collaborate with Anesthesiologist to implement an anesthetic plan.
• Notify supervising Anesthesiologist of significant changes in patient status.
• Recognize and treat cardiac arrhythmias under anesthesia.
• Initiate life-saving resuscitation measures when needed.
• Order pre-anesthetic medications under protocol and monitor as per ASA guidelines.
• Serve as a preceptor for anesthesia students and a resource for staff.
• Communicate with referring physicians and participate in risk management.
