Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus, OH, is seeking a CRNA to perform comprehensive preanesthesia assessments, develop and implement anesthesia plans, and provide anesthesia care for general, regional, local, and sedation procedures. The role includes on-call coverage and post-anesthesia follow-up in an IOM environment.

The position requires a Master's in Nursing with AANA/NBCRNA/CRNA certifications and Ohio RN licensure.

Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Nursing required.
  • AANA, NBCRNA and CRNA certifications.
  • Licensed RN in Ohio (Board of Nursing).
  • Graduate from an approved nursing program and maintain current Ohio RN licensure.
  • Certification in anesthesia practice and ongoing professional verification as required by AANA.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preanesthesia assessment and evaluation.
  • Provide general, regional, local and sedation anesthesia coverage.
  • Select, obtain and administer anesthetics and other drugs.
  • Facilitate emergency response and anesthesia recovery.
  • Provide postanesthesia care and follow-up evaluations.
  • Implement acute and chronic pain management modalities.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide on-call coverage as required.

Job Description Summary

To perform and document preanesthestic assessment and evaluations of patients. Develop and implement anesthetic plans. To initiate the anesthetic technique to include general, regional, local and sedation. Provide continuous evaluation of patient's physical status. Select, obtain and administer anesthetics and other drugs and fluids. Discharge patients from postanesthesia care and provide follow up evaluation. Respond to emergency situations. Provide on call coverage as required. All services provided will be supervised by a Physician as required by Ohio law.

  • CRNA - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist - National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA)
  • RN - Registered Nurse - Ohio Board of Nursing
Additional Job Description

Graduate from an approved school of nursing and hold current Ohio licensure as a registered nurse. Graduate from a nurse anesthesia educational program accredited by the AANA Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs or its predecessor. Complete the AANA Certification examination. Comply with criteria for biennial re Certification as defined by AANA to include current licensure as a registered nurse, active practice as a CRNA, appropriate continuing and verification of the absence of mental, physical or other problems which could interfere with the practice of Anesthesia.

Work Shift: Day Scheduled Weekly Hours : 40 Department GMC Anesthesia
