Headquartered in Nashville, TN, August Bioservices is a privately‑owned, high‑growth CDMO that provides a wide array of drug discovery, formulation, and manufacturing services to pharma and biotech companies. We are expanding with a new state‑of‑the‑art facility and seek dynamic professionals to grow with us.

Position Summary

The Critical Utilities Technician will manage essential utilities for both non‑GMP and GMP Site Services at our Nashville manufacturing site. Responsibilities include operating high‑pressure boilers, clean utility systems (WFI, RO, Clean Steam), air compressors, chiller, nitrogen, wastewater, HVAC, HEPA, and EMS/BMS building management systems. The role involves routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and contractor coordination.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure continuous operation of mechanical systems through routine inspections, maintenance, and metering monitoring.
  • Schedule regular inspections, cleanings, filter replacements, and perform necessary repairs or component replacements.
  • Monitor safety equipment, identify potential hazards, and take appropriate actions to suspend operations when needed.
  • Acquire replacement parts and upgrade components while maintaining budget constraints.
  • Stay current on safety laws and regulations and ensure full compliance.
  • Document inspections, maintenance routines, and repairs in proper records.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant technologies and recommend overhauls or upgrades.
  • Execute preventive maintenance on critical utility systems.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience with complex systems or in the industrial sector.
  • Boiler operator license for the state of Tennessee preferred.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical utility systems (reverse osmosis, Water for Injection, Clean Steam).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail‑oriented and highly safety‑conscious.
  • Proficiency with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
