About This Role

As a Master Field Engineer, you will be vital to ALC's Critical Systems Data Center Team through field commissioning of building automation systems tailored for each customer. We seek a team-oriented individual with excellent time management, organization, communication, technical, and troubleshooting skills. You will serve as a technical and product expert, solve complex problems, lead training for less experienced engineers, and act as a field contact.

Essential Job Functions
  • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems utilizing advanced Direct Digital Control technology.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced Field Engineers on all tools and technology.
  • Serve as local contact for technical issues.
  • Provide solutions for complex system issues.
  • Ensure proper operation of systems, controls, sensors, and software.
  • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports.
  • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate and document project status and details for the customer.
  • Provide site-specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a technical field.
  • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment over 8 feet and lift items up to 50 lbs.
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Willingness to travel within the U.S. up to 80% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, Associate degree, or technical/business diploma in HVAC, Controls, or related field.
  • Proficiency with advanced building automation software like WebCTRL and installing controls.
  • Experience with mission-critical BAS deployments using BACnet and Modbus protocols.
  • Experience with EPMS deployments using BACnet and Modbus.
  • Familiarity with construction/commissioning tracking platforms (CX Alloy, Procore, Autodesk Build).
  • Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems.
  • Expertise with TCP/IP networks and wireless technology.
  • Ability to handle multiple challenges, requiring multidisciplinary knowledge.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
