Job summary

Central Power is seeking a Critical Power Technician in the Saint Louis, MO area to service emergency standby generators, transfer switches, and switchgear. The role involves field service with overtime and after-hours on-call rotations to support customers and mining operations.

The ideal candidate has generator maintenance experience, electrical and mechanical knowledge, and a willingness to travel. On-site work with competitive benefits and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with higher voltage generator maintenance (CAT, Kohler, Cummins).
• 3+ years of generator maintenance experience.
• Electrical and mechanical knowledge of diesel-powered generators.
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school preferred.
• Graduation from a technical school and/or an AAS in Electrical Power Generator Tech is a big plus.
• Military experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of critical power systems installation, start-up and commissioning.
• Perform diagnostic and repair procedures on all systems including PLCs, AC/DC, and switch gears.
• Perform scheduled maintenance on electric power generation equipment including gas and diesel engines, generators, and transfer switches.
• Coordination with installing electrical contractors.
• Oversee correction of issues arising from commissioning.
• Become familiar with working off-site and with mining companies.
• Testing and troubleshooting various sized generators.
