Job summary

Aligned Data Centers is seeking a motivated Facilities Technician to support HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and fire life-safety systems across our data center campuses. Under supervision, you’ll perform preventive and corrective maintenance and monitor building management and digital systems.

This role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2–5 years of hands-on experience, and basic MS Office skills. You may work overtime and occasional weekends as needed to keep critical facilities running

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 2-5 years of working experience in facilities/maintenance is expected.
• Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical critical facilities systems is a plus.
• Able to work 40+ hours with occasional overtime.
• Computer skills MS Office are required.

Responsibilities

• Under supervision, assist with maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, generator operations, life safety, and digital systems.
• Maintain and monitor work-order systems for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
• Inspect buildings, lighting, grounds, and equipment for safety and repairs.
• Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs as needed.
• Identify and repair plumbing fixtures and clear clogs where applicable.
• Operate machinery and tools such as saws, drills, and hand tools.
• Monitor building conditions and conduct periodic property tours.
• Maintain inventory of tools and supplies; suggest procurement.
• Assist with moving, loading, unloading, and storage of supplies and equipment.
• Adjust hours, including overtime and occasional weekend work.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (to include, but not limited to):

• Under supervision, assist with maintenance of multiple mechanical areas including components within the HVAC system, plumbing installation/maintenance, generator operations, fire detection and suppression, life safety, temperature control systems, building management systems, and digital systems (including fire alarm, duress, card access, CCTV).




• Maintain and monitor electronic work-order ticketing system(s) to perform and track all preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance within the Data Center campus.




• Inspect buildings, lighting systems, grounds, and equipment to ensure safe, well-maintained conditions, and identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair.




• May perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs; replace light bulbs, ballasts and fuses (depending on experience).




• Identify and perform basic service and repair on plumbing fixtures; open clogged lines and drains.




• Operate a variety of machinery, equipment and tools including saws, router, drills, sanders, planers, drill presses and various hand tools.




• Monitor building conditions and tour property periodically during scheduled shift.




• Maintain inventory of tools, supplies, and equipment; recommend tools, supplies, and equipment for purchase.




• Assist with moving, loading, unloading and storage of supplies as well as furniture and equipment.




• Adjustment of hours (including occasional overtime) and/or scheduled days (including occasional weekend work) may be required.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or GED and minimum 2-5 years’ working experience


• Working knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical critical facilities systems a plus


• Able to work 40 hours plus occasional overtime


• Computer skills required: MS Office
