Job summary

Iron Mountain is hiring a Critical Facilities Technician for its Data Centers. You’ll support electrical, HVAC and building management systems in a 24x7 environment, with a focus on up-time and safety. Experience in data centers or critical operations is preferred.

Responsibilities include monitoring power/cooling/security systems, performing routine maintenance, and managing tickets. The role may require overtime, and U.S. Citizenship is required for customer-facing work.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years experience in a critical operations environment and/or data center experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Chiller Plant systems-Trane,York,Multi Stack, Web Control BMS, STS switches, and UPS Maintenance bypass.
  • Google sheets and google classroom.
  • Multi tasking across different systems to manage tickets and tasks.
  • Attention to detail and process-driven work.
  • Strong organization and prioritization with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to learn and grow within Iron Mountain.
  • Customer service mindset and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively support safety of the environment and occupants and follow safety procedures.
  • Monitor critical power, cooling, security, and support systems to meet uptime targets.
  • Perform limited maintenance to ensure data center operations run smoothly.
  • Track and update service tickets in the ticketing system and assist with client installations.
  • Take daily readings of mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect facilities.
  • Identify issues and take steps to resolve them, assisting with service delivery as needed.

The Critical Facilities Technician provides technical and facility support in a 24x7 data center environment, including maintenance and oversight of electrical, HVAC, and building management systems. Responsibilities
  • Proactively support the safety of the environment & occupants and ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work.
  • Monitor IMDC's critical power, cooling/environmental, security & support systems and facilities to meet or exceed up-time service levels.
  • Perform limited maintenance tasks to ensure smooth operation of the data center heating and cooling systems and overall facility.
  • Monitor, resolve and update all assigned service tickets using IMDC's ticketing system. Including trouble tickets and customer installations of electrical and physical equipment.
  • Take daily operational readings of all mechanical and electrical equipment and inspect buildings, grounds, and all equipment for unsafe or malfunctioning operation.
  • Proactively identify issues and take the needed steps to resolve them. Assist with service delivery tasks when needed.
Key Skills, Requirements And Competencies
  • 0-2 years experience in a critical operations environment and/or data center experience preferred, but not required.
  • Knowledge of Chiller Plant systems-Trane,York,Multi Stack, Web Control BMS, STS switches, and UPS Maintenance bypass.
  • Google sheets and google classroom.
  • Multi tasking - we use several different systems to manage ticket queues and work tasks can change throughout the day.
  • Attention to detail - ability to understand and follow a documented process and Iron Mountain's safety code, role is very process driven.
  • Organization & prioritization - following processes and managing your time with minimal supervision to get work done efficiently and on time.
  • Dedication & desire to learn - we would like you to grow your career within Iron Mountain.
  • Customer service mentality - we are customer obsessed.
  • Opportunities for overtime work will be available. Working hours are varied and nights, weekends and holidays may be required.
  • The ability to obtain security clearance via government or other agency background check may be required for customer support.
