Job summary

Vantage Data Centers in Reno, NV is seeking experienced Critical Facilities Engineers to join our on-site team responsible for maintaining data center infrastructure. The role focuses on hands-on maintenance of UPS, PDUs, Diesel Generators, ATS, building controls and HVAC systems on a 10- or 12-hour shift basis.

We value safety, reliability and customer-focused service; candidates should have 3–5 years of experience in mission-critical facilities, strong reading of blueprints, and proven ability

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years hands-on experience maintaining industrial electrical and mechanical systems in mission-critical facilities.
  • Experience with generators, fuel delivery, parallel switchgear, MV/LV distribution, PDUs, UPS, switchgear, HVAC and building monitoring/automation.
  • Ability to read commercial building blueprints and electrical single lines/schematics.
  • Technical writing skills to create and update MOPs/SOPs/EOPs for critical facilities.
  • Willingness to work 10–12 hour shifts, on-site in Reno, NV; travel minimal.

Responsibilities

  • Operate, maintain and repair critical Data Center systems (UPS, PDU, Diesel Generators, ATS, Building Controls, Chillers, CRAH).
  • Develop reliability reports to ensure uptime targets and capacity.
  • Coordinate and oversee maintenance vendors while ensuring safety and power to critical loads.
  • Create MOPs, SOPs and EOPs for maintenance activities.
  • Respond to safety and emergency situations and maintain a secure work environment.

The team is staffed 24 x 7 onsite with Critical Facility Engineers (CFEs) on each shift.This team is the face of Vantage to our customers and the first line of defense regarding the uptime of our campus as well as the performance of our customer installations. Using a Critical Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to plan and track work needed, the Site Operations department performs all preventative and corrective maintenance. Our culture expects and rewards team performance that engages directly with the customers and the facility infrastructure. This is a team that does most of the actual work versus calling upon vendors. As a result, we provide superior service that is faster and more cost effective.Position OverviewWe are looking for multiple Critical Facilities Engineers who know what best-in-class service looks like and can make that a reality. This role is an important member of our facilities team where we manage some of the most efficient and cost-effective data center facilities in the industry. Please ask during interview process the shifts available for future openings. Timeline for open positions is TBD. We may be able to hire level II, or IIIs depending on skillset one brings. Field Service Technicians from OEMs and Chiller Techs highly preferred. These are hands-on roles working on our own equipment on our own campus.
