Job summary

Arista Advanced Pet Care is seeking a Veterinary Technician to support veterinarians in a fast-paced practice. You will care for transferring and hospitalized patients, assist with anesthesia, catheter placement, and diagnostic workups, and maintain meticulous patient records and client communications.

You will collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and staff to deliver high-quality care, manage procedures, and ensure patients are discharged with clear care instructions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience working as a veterinary professional.
• Experience in both general practice and specialty/ ER veterinary medicine preferred.
• Current Veterinary Technician License when required by state (must be provided prior to start date).
• Ability to follow directives and plan of care established by the Veterinarian, even if there are differing treatment opinions
• Knowledgeable on veterinary medical terminology and medication
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with clients, team members, and patients
• Ability to remain calm in stressful/emergency situations and meet screening requirements
• Must be at least 18 years of age at time of hire

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Critical Care veterinarians to care for transferring and hospitalized patients.
• Utilize full technician skills including anesthesia monitoring, catheter placement, and coordinating procedures with the DVM.
• Monitor critically ill patients and report changes to the Veterinarian.
• Record and maintain patient charts, prepare treatment estimates, and communicate with clients.
• Administer medications, collect specimens, and assist with diagnostic procedures.
• Collaborate with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to uphold a high standard of care.
• Triplicate: ensure proper dosing and safety of treatments as directed by the Veterinarian.
• Admit and discharge patients with clear client education and documentation.
