Job summary

Jennie Stuart Health in Kentucky is seeking a Registered Nurse with a strong focus on critical care to deliver high-quality, compassionate patient care. Responsibilities include comprehensive nursing assessments, timely care planning, medication administration, and coordination with the care team. A current Kentucky (or compact) RN license, BLS, and ACLS are required.

Prior critical care experience is preferred. May involve supervising staff and engaging families in care decisions.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an Approved School of Nursing.
• Licensed Registered Nurse in Kentucky or a compact state.
• BLS certification in Healthcare Provider issued by American Heart Association (or Red Cross) current.
• ACLS certification current.

Responsibilities

• Completes nursing history and assessment accurately within expected time frames.
• Delivers age-appropriate care and collaborates with health care team.
• Delegates duties based on patient needs and unit expectations.
• Uses critical thinking to prioritize care and adjust plans as patient condition changes.
• Coordinates and collaborates on plan of care with the health care team including discharge planning.
• Documents interventions accurately, timely, and legibly.
• Administers medications observing the 5 rights and according to patient condition.
• Supervises staff who provide direct patient care.
• Provides patient and caregiver education and engages disciplines in care planning.
