Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant to support direct patient care on the MICU under RN supervision. Responsibilities include assisting with activities of daily living, monitoring vital signs, and transporting patients and specimens.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and BLS/First Aid certification within 30 days of hire. Prior patient care experience is preferred, with a focus on safety and compassionate, family-centered care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support or HeartSaver First Aid within 30 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Assist in direct patient care by providing basic physical care as directed by the RN.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living and bed making.
• Transport patients and specimens selon safety policies and procedures.
• Perform routine tests (e.g., glucose monitoring, urine/stool tests) and maintain logs per policy.
• Provide respiratory support and assist with examinations and procedures.
