Job summary

Intermountain Health McKay-Dee Hospital is hiring a Critical Care Technician to support the Critical Care and Emergency Departments. The role works under licensed clinicians to assist with patient care and monitoring in acute settings.

You will respond to patient needs, perform EKG duties, manage supplies, and aid with transfers while maintaining infection control and delivering excellent service to patients and families. This position emphasizes collaboration with RNs and the care team.

Qualifications

• Current CNA certification in state of practice.
• EMT or Paramedic certification in state of practice.
• MA certification from an accredited program or affiliated with Intermountain Health.
• BLS-HCP certification upon hire.
• POC testing requires HS diploma or GED per CLIA regulations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient care needs by attending call lights and assisting with hygiene and vital signs.
• Perform 12-lead EKG duties and other tasks within training level.
• Apply, check, and document restraints as directed by RN or physician.
• Assist with patient transfers, admissions, and discharges with safe handling.
• Order and maintain unit stock and perform unit secretary duties.
• Report and record patient data promptly and seek help for changes in condition.
• Assist with resuscitation setup and line insertion readiness.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
• Identify and address unit and patient needs with minimal supervision alongside RNs.
• Adhere to infection prevention and support Intermountain Health mission and values.
