Job description

Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit is seeking a permanent full-time Critical Care Technician with Day and Night availability. A professional nursing assistant with rotating weekends and scheduled holidays.

Lunder 6 is a 22-bed adult Neuroscience ICU that cares for critically ill patients with neurological diagnoses such as neurotrauma, status epilepticus, stroke, and spinal cord injury.

Responsibilities of a Critical Care Technician/PCA:
  • Assist the healthcare team to promote a safe and caring environment under the mentorship of an RN.
  • Help patients with daily living needs, monitor and read vital signs, draw blood, and obtain EKGs.
  • Respond promptly to patient requests, safeguard confidentiality, monitor safety, and communicate respectfully.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interact effectively with patients, staff, and providers.
  • Solve basic patient and practice problems using interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Lift and transport patients safely using proper techniques.
Minimum Requirements:
  • Recent experience or training in clinical patient care.
  • Preferred: Licensed, certified, or enrolled in a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, Mental Health Technician, or EMT program at hire.
  • Alternatively, enrolled in a Nursing, Pre-Med, or PA undergraduate program with at least one semester of patient care rotations completed.
Schedule:
  • Three 12-hour shifts per week.
  • 7am-7pm days and 7pm-7am nights.
  • Mandatory weekend shifts every month.
