Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a competent nurse who practices independently in a clinical setting, providing routine and complex care while coordinating care with other providers to manage the clinical situation. The role emphasizes delivering care in accordance with ANA standards and ensuring accurate documentation of patient history and treatments.

Applicants should have a BSN (preferred), ACLS and BLS certifications, and an RN license in the state or a compact for employment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• ACLS certification required.
• BLS certification required.
• RN license in state of employment or compact.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Administers medications and treatments; monitors for side-effects and effectiveness.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assess learning needs and provides education to patients, family members and/or care givers.
