Job summary

Ochsner Health System is seeking a Nursing Lead to guide patient care using the nursing process within the framework of applicable standards. The role effectively delegates, directs, and assists licensed and ancillary team members, and assumes accountability for quality patient outcomes.

Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program and current RN license in the state of practice; BLS certification. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing and strong leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to deliver patient care.
• Assesses learning needs and teaches diverse patients/families.
• Delegates and manages nursing team resources within the interdisciplinary team.
• Uses data to evaluate outcomes and support practice improvements.
• Maintains compliance with safety, privacy, and regulatory standards.
