Job summary

Atrium Health is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the 4-bed Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) in Matthews, North Carolina. You will provide critical care, participate in governance, and support evidence-based practices within a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, and collaboration with the care team to optimize outcomes. The role requires strong clinical judgment, safety focus, and timely documentation in the EHR.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license valid in North Carolina or eligible for multi-state licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• BSN degree preferred; candidates with this degree are encouraged to apply.
• Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, professional governance, and quality initiatives to improve care processes and apply evidence-based practices.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence care outcomes.
• May administer medications, treatments, and therapies safely and according to clinical protocols and procedures.
• Maintains accurate, timely EHR documentation.
• May float to other units, departments, or facilities within the service area as needed.
