Job summary

ATC Healthcare of Las Vegas seeks an experienced Critical Care RN for a 13-week night-shift assignment in the hospital Float Pool. The role requires delivering high-acuity care across ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, SICU and other units based on census and staffing.

Candidates must hold NV RN license or compact, have at least 2 years in critical care, BLS and ACLS, and be comfortable floating to multiple units. Travel nursing experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nevada or compact state eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for critically ill patients.
• Monitor cardiac rhythms, hemodynamics, and responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, blood products, and IV therapies per hospital policy.
• Manage ventilated patients and critical care interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams.
• Respond to medical emergencies, rapid response situations, and code events.
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation.
• Float to various CC and progressive care units as needed.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Adhere to hospital, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards.

Shift: Nights (12-hour shifts)
Duration: 13 Weeks w/possible extensions
Unit: Critical Care Float Pool

Position Summary

ATC Healthcare of Las Vegas is seeking experienced and adaptable Critical Care Registered Nurses (RNs) for a 13-week night shift assignment within a hospital Float Pool. This role requires the ability to provide high-quality patient care across multiple critical care environments, including ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, SICU, MICU, Step-Down, and other specialty units as assigned based on patient census and staffing needs.

The ideal candidate is clinically strong, flexible, and comfortable working in fast-paced acute care settings while maintaining exceptional patient care standards.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for critically ill and high-acuity patients.
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, hemodynamic data, and patient responses to treatment.
• Administer medications, blood products, and intravenous therapies in accordance with hospital policies.
• Manage patients requiring advanced monitoring, ventilator support, and critical care interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
• Respond appropriately to medical emergencies, rapid response situations, and code events.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).
• Float to various critical care and progressive care units as needed based on hospital staffing requirements.
• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans and discharge needs.
• Adhere to all hospital, state, federal, and Joint Commission standards.

Minimum Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Nevada or compact state eligibility.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Critical Care experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• Previous Float Pool experience preferred.
• Experience caring for ventilated patients and complex critical care populations.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification preferred.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly to changing patient assignments and unit needs.

Preferred Experience

• ICU, CVICU, Neuro ICU, MICU, SICU, or Trauma ICU experience.
• Experience with vasoactive drips and hemodynamic monitoring.
• Proficiency using hospital EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or Meditech.
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required.
