Job summary

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an approved school of Respiratory Therapy.
• Associate’s degree in respiratory therapy required; BA/BS preferred.
• RRT credential and state licensure likely required per policy.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in oxygen delivery methods and equipment; conducts prescribed therapies.
• Administers therapies, understands purpose and benefits; performs diagnostic procedures per policy.
• Initiates and maintains ventilators; aware of critical care duties and effects of therapy.
• Evaluates current therapies and makes plan of care recommendations to the team.
• Documents therapy results; communicates with healthcare team.
• Initiates and adjusts respiratory care in emergencies; analyzes blood gas values.
• Works independently in all patient areas; proficient with EMR and interfaces.
• Follows safety guidelines; completes regulatory requirements and proficiency evaluations.
