Job summary

Temecula Valley Hospital in Temecula, CA is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide routine and critical respiratory therapy and cardiology support. You will work with physicians and staff, perform ABGs, and ensure accurate billing and documentation.

Qualifications

• 1 year of Acute and Critical Care experience preferred.
• Graduate from an AMA/CoARC approved program to train respiratory care practitioners is required.
• Associates degree in Respiratory Care preferred.
• Certification by the State of California as a Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• Active NBRC credential (CRT) required.
• RRT credential required.
• Current BLS (AHA) required.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire.
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire.
• PALS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and critical respiratory and cardiology diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
• Serve as technical and clinical resource for physicians and staff.
• Maintain Quality Controls on ABG machines with proper documentation.
• Ensure all billing is completed and entered into patient records by shift end.
• Complete Oxygen rounds and reflect charges on billing records.
• Conduct Arterial Blood Gas testing per hospital policy.
• Provide IPPB therapy, nebulizer/MDI therapy, and oxygen therapy.
• Administer chest physiotherapy and CPR including airway care.
