Job summary

Sierra Medical Center, part of Northern Nevada Health System, seeks a skilled Respiratory Therapist to provide comprehensive respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Under supervision of the Critical Care Director, Medical Director, and Respiratory Department Manager, you will administer therapies, manage ventilators, and perform arterial blood gas analyses while adhering to policy and physician orders.

Qualifications

• Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure.
• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy.
• 5 years of verifiable experience.
• BLS and ACLS certification.
• PALS, NRP, Blood Gas Technologist certified within 90 days.
• NICU experience, 3 years or more preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains knowledge of oxygen delivery methods and equipment; monitors for side effects.
• Administers respiratory therapy treatments and notes potential side effects.
• Sets up and monitors ventilators and related ICU duties such as airway management.
• Performs arterial punctures for blood gas analysis and understands risks.
