Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy required; Bachelor's preferred.
• Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care license and RRT credentials required; BLS/ACLS/PALS must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
• 1 year of Respiratory Care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Initiates and assists with respiratory tests and procedures as ordered to deliver appropriate care.
• Responds to respiratory emergencies and transports mechanically ventilated patients.
• Prepares care plan and makes physician recommendations; schedules patient treatments as needed and participates in bedside care rounds.
• Manages the administration of respiratory therapy per policies and procedures.
• Makes regular bedside rounds and adjusts treatment plans according to patient response.
• Participates in education of students, physicians, staff, and patients/families; supervises respiratory therapy students.
