Job summary

Shepherd Center in Atlanta is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to evaluate patient needs and deliver complex respiratory care as part of an interdisciplinary team. You will manage ventilators, ABG analyses, and patient education to support the care plan.

The role requires CRT/RRT credentials, an accredited program background, and clinical experience. ACLS/BLS may be required within six months. This is a full-time on-site position at our center.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program and state licensure.
• ACLS certification required within six months of start date.
• Two years of clinical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates and assesses patient needs for respiratory therapy and performs complex procedures.
• Interacts with patients daily, actively participating in their recovery plan.
• Collaborates with RNs, physicians, and other team members to collect data for the care plan.
• Performs ventilation management, ABG procurement and analysis.
• Operates devices such as ventilators and gas administration systems.
• Educates patients and families on disease process and treatment modalities.
• Documents observations clearly and promptly in patient records.
