Baylor Scott & White Medical Center - Sunnyvale is seeking a Critical Care Nursing Director to provide leadership to the ICU, Cardiac Specialty Unit, and Dialysis. The Director is responsible for clinical, operational, and fiscal performance, ensuring compliance with standards of care, staffing, quality, safety, and service. Responsibilities include supporting evidence-based leadership, nursing practice, and resolving patient or physician complaints.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead managers and frontline staff, overseeing multiple teams.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Manage budgets and monitor financial performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to improve operations.
  • Facilitate meetings, resolve staff and physician issues, and respond to communications.
  • Oversee performance improvement, policy development, and regulatory readiness.
  • Mentor staff, manage human resources, and promote evidence-based practice.
  • Engage in professional development and maintain effective relationships with staff and physicians.

Success Factors:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and at least three years of critical care nursing experience.
  • Current RN license in practice state.
  • Completion of critical care courses and certifications including BLS, ACLS, and CPI.
  • Effective communication skills in English; additional languages preferred.
  • Basic computer skills.
