Critical Care - Intensivist Nurse Practitioner Job with Indiana University Health in IN

Join to apply for the Critical Care - Intensivist Nurse Practitioner role at Indiana University Health.

Indiana University Health Southern Region is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider with a diverse acute care background to join our General & Trauma Surgery team in Bloomington, IN. We are a Level III trauma center and referral center for the South Central Region of IU Health.

The primary focus is providing comprehensive care to General & Trauma Surgery patients across various settings, including outpatient clinics, Emergency Department, operating room, inpatient units, and discharge planning. The APP will work closely with board-certified General Surgeons to impact patient care across the continuum.

Schedule
  • Full Time, Day Shift
  • Approximately 80% inpatient, 20% outpatient
  • Four 10-hour shifts, starting around 0715
  • Weekend and holiday rotations
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to trauma activations and general surgery emergencies
  • Perform initial assessments and formulate care plans
  • Provide consultative services in ED and inpatient settings
  • Manage and coordinate inpatient care, conduct rounds, monitor recovery, and discharge planning
  • Perform procedures including wound care, chest tube insertion/removal, central line placement, ultrasound, and assist in OR
Qualifications and Experience
  • ACNP or PA certification required, board eligible/certified
  • Experience managing critically ill patients in ICU preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of acute care, trauma, critical care, or emergency medicine experience
