Endeavor Health is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APN/PA) for Critical Care/ICU at Evanston Hospital in Evanston, IL. This full‑time inpatient role includes rotating day/evening shifts with no overnights, and travel to Glenview, Highland Park, and Skokie hospitals for cross-coverage during orientation and beyond.

You will work under collaborating physicians, perform exams, order tests, interpret results, and prescribe therapies within ICU protocols.

Qualifications

• IL Advanced Practice licensure required.
• Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required
• BLS/CPR & ACLS certification required
• Prior APN/PA experience preferred
• ANP or FNP with relevant experience will be considered

Responsabilités

• Under the direction of collaborating physicians, provides care to patients.
• Obtains detailed history and performs physical examinations, orders imaging, lab tests and diagnostic procedures and interprets results.
• Instructs patients on prescribed regimens and pre/post operative instructions.
• Maintains records and writes progress notes on status, treatments and procedures.
• Follows patients through their course of treatment in the clinic and hospital setting.
• Collaborates with physicians and the health care team to achieve optimal patient outcomes.

Position Highlights

• Location: Evanston Hospital, Evanston, IL


• Full-Time (average 40 hours per week)


• Hours: Monday-Friday between 10:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. & 2:00 p.m. - 10: 00 p.m.; occasional 6:45 a.m. - 6:45 p.m.; rotating weekends and holidays required. No overnights or call.


• Required Travel: Glenview, Highland Park, and Skokie Hospitals. Travel to all NorthShore sites during orientation and occasionally for cross-coverage afterwards will be required.

• Demonstrates evidence-based practice.


• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards of practice in the specialty.


• Assesses the learning needs of patients and families across the continuum.


• Employs strategies, interventions and teaching to promote, maintain, and improve health.


• Provide comprehensive health assessments, differential diagnosis, and prescribe treatments under the protocol in the direct management of acute and chronic illness and disease.


• Promotes wellness and prevent illness and injury in various settings for individuals, families, and communities.


• Works autonomously and in interdisciplinary teams as resources and consultants.


• Positively contributes to safety outcomes and promoting high-quality patient experience.


• Participates in the development, implementation, and evaluation of service line goals.


• Supports the strategic plan of the organization.


• Adheres to all Endeavor Health policies and procedures.


• Working with Intensivists & the multidisciplinary team, the CCS APP provide comprehensive exams, differential diagnosis, & prescribe treatments for the direct management of acute & chronic illness/disease for critically ill medical & surgical patients in the ICUs.


• The CCS APP work autonomously in interdisciplinary teams & positively contribute to high-quality care while maintaining safety measures with a goal of optimal outcomes a desirable patient experience.

Qualifications

• License: Advanced Practice Licensure (APN) or Physician Assistant (PA) Licensure in the State of IL required; Federal DEA and Illinois Controlled Substance License required


• Education: Graduate of an accredited Physician Associate Master's Degree program OR APN Masters (MSN) or Doctorate of Nursing (DNP) Program


• Certification: BLS/CPR & ACLS certification required


• Experience: Prior APN/PA experience preferred.


• Will consider ANP or FNP with relevant experience & training

Special Knowledge And Skills Required

• Experienced in critical care patient management mandatory OR completion of a one-year critical care residency required

OR

• APN Acute Care NP OR Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP Board Certification (ACNP or AGACNP Board Certification) preferred
