Job summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital is seeking a qualified RN for its float pool on the night shift. This full-time position operates three 12-hour shifts, offering stability and critical care exposure in a busy hospital setting.

The ideal candidate will hold an Alabama RN license, BLS certification, and at least 1 year of acute care experience, with 2+ years preferred. You will collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver patient-centered care and maintain regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current Alabama RN license or valid eNLC multistate license.
• Current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• 1 year RN experience in acute care required; 2+ years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients with complex assessments and monitoring.
• Uses clinical judgment to assess and respond to changing patient conditions.
• Operates and interprets data from monitoring equipment and life support systems.
• Responds to emergencies using standard nursing protocols and interventions.
• Develops and revises individualized care plans; evaluates outcomes.
• Advocates for patients and families with age-appropriate care across lifespan.
• Collaborates with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; may serve as charge nurse or educator.
• Documents care accurately and ensures regulatory compliance.
