Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island or hold a valid compact license.
• At least 1 year of critical care experience required.
• Baccalaureate in Nursing preferred; current RI license to practice.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care.
• Leads and delegates to ensure safe nursing care by staff.
• Evaluates outcomes and identifies opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborates with healthcare team, patient and family for discharge planning.
• Assesses and provides education based on patient/family needs.
• Participates in unit quality improvement and research activities.
• Maintains competencies and pursues continuing education.
• Serves as a role model/preceptor to new graduates and less experienced staff.
• Assumes charge nurse duties as delegated.
