Job summary

The Riverside Health System is seeking a Critical Care Float RN to join the team at Newport News. You will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care across Critical Care/Telemetry and Emergency Services areas under supervision.

Experience in ICU/ER nursing is preferred; you will float per PRN Float Agreement, coordinate with a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure quality patient outcomes and education. Weekend/irregular shifts required.

Qualifications

• RN license in Virginia or compact state required upon hire.
• 2 years Critical Care hospital RN experience required.
• CPR/BLS and ACLS certifications required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient clinical and psychosocial needs per unit standards.
• Develop and evaluate plan of care with patients and families.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team for safe transitions.
• Ensure timely, ethical, and high-quality patient care.
• Complete all required clinical and quality documentation per RHS standards.
• Delegate and prioritize tasks to maintain patient care quality.
