Job summary

Phelps Health in Missouri seeks a Critical Care Float Nurse (RN) to deliver direct patient care across ICU and ED, with float to multiple units as needed.

Requires graduation from an accredited nursing program and an active MO or compact RN license, plus BLS/ACLS/PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC/MANDT training. One year of experience preferred. Includes lifting up to 35 lbs and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current RN license in MO or Compact Licensure.
• American Heart Association BLS.
• ACLS.
• PALS.
• NIHSS certification.
• MANDT training.
• TNCC.
• GN licensure timelines for grads.

Responsibilities

• Follows hospital policy on infection prevention and patient safety to provide safe care.
• Provides nursing care including meds administration, interventions, and patient/family teaching.
• Performs initial and ongoing patient assessments to monitor status and outcomes.
• Documents patient care activities and quality measures for clinical decision making.
• Communicates patient information to physicians and team members to improve outcomes.
• Engages with patients and families to provide education and enhance experience.
• Demonstrates critical thinking and pursues ongoing education.
