Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Critical Care Float Pool at the Memorial Worcester Campus. This part-time role requires day shifts (7am-7:30pm), with every third weekend and holiday.

You will perform direct patient care using the nursing process, participate in education, and support quality initiatives within a high-acuity environment. The position offers a $5,000 sign-on and opportunities for professional growth for experienced nurses holding MA licensure and BLS;

Qualifications

• Current Massachusetts Nursing licensure and registration.
• BLS is required for every RN; ACLS preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the Nursing Process for patient care from Admission to Discharge.
• Performs patient assessment and reassessment per standard procedures.
• Develops and coordinates care plans including discharge planning.
• Directs, supervises, coordinates, and evaluates nursing care within the unit.
• Delegates tasks according to competency and job description.
• Documents patient care according to standards.
• Develops and documents Education Plans for patients and families.
• Ensures quality and continuity of care through collaboration.
• Administers medications and operates equipment per policy.
• Supports Nursing Governance and participates in quality initiatives.
• Assists in staff education and development.
• Participates in performance improvement initiatives.
