Trusted Health is seeking an experienced travel nurse for a demanding ICU assignment across multiple units. You will leverage extensive ICU and float pool background, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, and invasive line care.

The role requires a WA license or compact license, Epic experience, and ability to float where needed. COVID vaccination is required post-submission; schedule includes nights and a 13-week contract.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide ICU-level care in a travel assignment.

Required Skills/Experience

Required Credentials

If you have a multistate license, you will be required to complete a 1-time 6-hour suicide prevention training according to WA state regulations.

Unit Details

Expected patient population includes covid patients; neuro, trauma, medical, and surgical patients; sepsis, pneumonia, DKA, DTs, multi-system failure, spinal injuries, pre/post cath patients (radial approach), general surgery patients, respiratory compromise, CHF, COPD, GSW, stabbings, MVA, strokes, TBI, and various back surgeries.CVICU cases include 24h - post-op CABG (10/wk.), esophagectomy, TAVR (3/wk.), AAA repair, thoracic and vascular surgeries, and post arrest.Travelers are not expected to care for fresh CABG/TAVR, EVDs, post TPA, or any devices (ECMO, IABP, Impella, hypothermia protocol).Patient ratios: ICU 1:2; PCU/ACC/CCU 1:4; ER Holding - same ratio based on patient’s level of care.Support on the unit includes charge nurse; hospitalist, RT, and intensivist 24/7; cardiologist on call 24/7 for CVICU, CCU, and Cardiac Short Stay.

Shift & Scheduling

Schedule is typically made for 3-weeks at a time and comes out 7-10 days prior.Every other weekend.Could work back to back weekends (rare).No self-scheduling and no guarantee of a patterned schedule.

Floating Requirements

May float within Tacoma General to Neuro/Trauma/Medical/Cardiac ICU, CCU (cardiac step down), PCU/ACC, ED Holding, Med Surg units, and any open surge areas for the above units.Traveler could float to Allenmore Hospital as needed, around 2.5 miles away. This is not common but is a possibility. Travelers should be notified in advance if they are needed at Allenmore.
