Job summary

Kona Community Hospital on the Big Island seeks a Registered Professional Nurse III for the Critical Care Float Pool. The role coordinates nursing care across Emergency, ICU, and PACU units, providing leadership and teaching while working with a multidisciplinary team.

Minimum requirements include Hawaii RN licensure, BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC within six months, and a Bachelor’s in Nursing with Masters as a possible experience substitute. Some shifts, weekends, and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• Graduated from an accredited school of nursing with active Hawaii RN license.
• Bachelor’s degree highly desirable; BSN preferred.
• 1/2 year of nursing experience in emergency services and ICU within last 2 years.
• Master's degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• License to practice as a professional nurse in Hawaii required.
• BLS required; ACLS, PALS, TNCC within 6 months; CCRN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate relationships of nursing services with other departments.
• Provide managerial assistance to nursing units and evaluate patient care.
• Deliver nursing care to Emergency, Intensive Care, and PACU/Short Stay patients.
• Lead by cooperating with staff and may work shifts, weekends and holidays.
