Critical Care/Emergency General Surgeon at Pennsylvania Hospital – Assistant Professor AC track
The Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Assistant Professor position in the non-tenure academic clinician track. Expertise is required in the specific area of surgical critical care and emergency general surgery. Applicants must have an M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent degree. They must also be certified for general surgery and surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery or foreign equivalent.
Teaching responsibilities may include supervision and instruction of residents, fellows, and medical students.
Clinical responsibilities may include patient care in trauma, surgical critical care, and emergency surgery.
Successful candidates will be expected to support and expand the emergency general surgery and surgical critical care programs at University of Pennsylvania Health System member hospitals with a primary practice location at Pennsylvania Hospital. They will also participate in performance improvement activities.
