Job summary

AdventHealth in Wesley Chapel, Florida is seeking a registered nurse to join our night shift team. You will conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, monitor responses, and educate patients and families as part of a collaborative care team.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate of Science in nursing, Florida RN license, and BLS/ACLS certifications, with previous hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree upon hire.
• Six months of hospital nursing experience upon hire or successful completion of the AHWC Graduate Nurse Training Program.
• Active Florida RN or APRN license required upon hire.
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or RQI upon hire and quarterly renewal.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Life Support (ACLS) certification or RQI upon hire and quarterly renewal.
• Current NIHSS Certification upon hire.
• 8 hours Stroke Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.
• 8 hours Hip & Knee Replacement / Spine Education within 6 months of hire date, then annually.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to gather data on health status and needs.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on assessment findings and medical diagnoses.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately as prescribed, ensuring patient safety and adherence to protocols.
• Monitor and evaluate patient responses to interventions, adjusting care plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
• Provide education and counseling to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, medications, and self-care strategies.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive and coordinated patient care.
• Document patient care activities, including assessments, care plans, interventions, and outcomes, accurately and timely in the EMR.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
• Supervise and mentor nursing staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by adhering to infection control policies and safety protocols.
• Respond promptly to life-threatening situations using established protocols and critical care skills.
