Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking a Dietitian for Nutrition Support to provide evidence-based medical nutrition therapy in critical care units. You will develop, implement and communicate nutrition plans for inpatients and outpatients, documenting in the EMR and coordinating with physicians, pharmacists and dietitians.

The role requires a Registered Dietitian license with CNSC within one year of hire; prior critical care experience and computer proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nutrition or related field.
• At least 2 years of critical care clinical experience.
• Computer literacy required.

Responsibilities

• Identifies patient needs and delivers care tailored to age, culture, language and abilities.
• Obtains and interprets nutritionally related information across the age span.
• Instructs patients on TPN, PPN, external feedings and other therapeutic diets.
• Documents nutrition information in medical records.
• Writes orders for TPN and additives and contributes to nutrition education.
• Audits TPN prescriptions for appropriateness and accuracy.
