Job summary

UK King’s Daughters in Portsmouth, OH seeks an exempt APRN to practice medicine in collaboration with physicians, conducting examinations and writing prescriptions. You will provide a broad range of diagnostic and therapeutic services and may educate patients, participate in research and administrative activities.

Minimum qualifications include MSN and APRN certification, plus an active RN license in KY or OH and BLS.

Qualifications

• MSN required and certified as an APRN from an approved nurse practitioner program.
• Minimum three years of professional nursing experience in an acute care setting.
• Active RN license in Kentucky and/or Ohio; BLS certification; acute care or ED experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient status through history taking, interview, and chart review and perform physical exams.
• Prescribe/dispense medications and/or injections in accordance with guidelines and state laws.
• Educate patients and families about medications, treatments, and health promotion.
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical team; participate in quality improvement and education activities.
