Job summary

Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center in Wilmington, NC seeks a compassionate Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join a 8 physicians and 3 APPs team. Inpatient, day/night rotation, weekends/holidays.

You will be involved in procedures such as central lines, A-lines, intubations, simple bronchoscopies, chest tubes and critical care ultrasound. Acute Care certification required for NPs and inpatient experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree required and PA or NP licensing in the state.
• Acute Care certification required for NPs.
• 1–3 years inpatient/critical care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Rotation of day and night shift with weekend/holiday coverage.
• Perform central lines, A-lines, intubations, bronchoscopies, chest tubes and CC ultrasound.
• Collaborate with pulmonary and critical care team and participate in resident education.

What We're Looking For

Novant Health New Hanover Medical Center is looking for a compassionate, caring Critical Care Advanced Practice Provider to join a collaborative Pulmonary & Critical team of 8 physicians and 3 APPs in Wilmington, NC. This position is an inpatient only position. Rotation will alternate one week on / one week off between days and nights. This position will work holidays & weekends. Critical care experience required, prefer MICU experience. Acute Care certification required for NPs.

Position Highlights:

• Rotation of day and night shift
• Opportunity to work with internal medicine residents.
• Will learn to perform central lines, A-lines, intubations, simple bronchoscopies, chest tubes, critical care ultrasound
• Day Shift: Will primarily be with the planned co-management service with cardiology to provide dedicated critical care coverage to CCU/CVICU. Certain CME courses will be required. This position may also be expected to flex and support other daytime intensivists in the medical ICU
• Night shift: Will work with nighttime intensivist providing cross-cover of patients, admits patients to MICU, responds to codes

Requirements:

• Education: Master's Degree required. Either a graduate of an NCCPA accredited physician assistant program, or NP or post Master’s NP program required.Acute Care certification required for NPs.
• Licensure/Certification/Registration: Current PA or NP license in appropriate state required. NCCPA or registry with state nursing board, ACLS, DEA registry required.
• Experience: Strongly prefer one to three years of inpatient experience. Critical care experience is a plus.
