Job summary

The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is seeking a Case Manager in Lincoln, NE to serve as the nexus for campus responses to distressed students. Under the Assistant Director, you will coordinate services, field inquiries, and link students with advocacy and support programs.

You will help develop training for faculty and staff, work with multiple offices, and contribute to BIT practices. Strong communication, crisis management, and collaboration across diverse groups are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • Three years of demonstrated experience in crisis management, crisis intervention, and case management with college students or emerging adults.
  • Broad knowledge of health care, mental health care, crisis management, and services.
  • Experience in prevention, psycho-educational, and educational outreach and programming for students, faculty, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary organizational setting and to coordinate services.
  • Demonstrated project management skills and cross-cultural communication abilities.
  • Experience collaborating with diverse groups and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the nexus of information and integration for the campus’ response to students experiencing varying degrees of need and/or distress.
  • Intervene early with students potentially experiencing basic need insecurities or distress and advocate on their behalf.
  • Develop training for faculty and staff and provide information about Student Advocacy and Support.
  • Coordinate responses and services for individual students.
  • Research national best practices and participate in the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT).
  • Support activities and programs of the Student Advocacy and Support Office.
