Job summary

Mount Rogers Community Services Board in Marion, VA, seeks a Registered Nurse to join the Crisis Stabilization Days unit. You will conduct assessments, coordinate medical referrals, and manage medications in collaboration with the team prescriber.

As part of a subacute unit, you’ll document client progress, participate in treatment planning, provide individual and group interventions, and support clients facing behavioral health and substance use challenges.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred or equivalent nursing degree.
• Current RN licensure in state or compact.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience; Behavioral Health experience preferred.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Conduct initial and ongoing face-to-face and/or telemedicine assessments.
• Document client progress in permanent records.
• Participate in staff meetings and treatment planning reviews.
• Provide medication administration under prescriber supervision; manage medications and policies.
• Assess symptoms and adjust treatment plans; respond to risk.
• Provide symptom education and individual/group treatment.
• Understand challenges of adults with SMI and substance use; respect client preferences.
