Job summary

Services for the UnderServed in the United States is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Supportive Crisis Stabilization Center team. The RN will perform medical assessments, brief histories, monitor care, and coordinate follow-up as directed by the Program Director.

Responsibilities include screening clients, evaluating withdrawal, coordinating medications with pharmacy, documenting care in the EHR, and providing health education.

Qualifications

• Master’s in Nursing preferred; Bachelor’s required; NYS RN license.
• Knowledge of psychiatric disorders and chemical dependency preferred.
• Ability to work independently and within a team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Assessment and case management.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) speaking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete medical assessments and brief histories on all clients admitted to the program.
• Monitor and coordinate follow-up care as directed by the Program Director.
• Complete screening, assessments and care of every client seeking SCSC services.
• Coordinate delivery and reception of medications with pharmacy.
• Document all medications received and coordinate management of the meds while client is at SCSC.
• Observe self-administration of medications.
• Monitor withdrawal symptoms during detoxification according to established protocols.
• Refer for required medical services as appropriate (Internal & External).
• Provide education and consultation to individual clients and/or groups on their health needs.
• Assure clients’ compliance with prescribed medical regimens.
• Complete timely and accurate documentation in EHR.
• File all documents in the clients’ charts upon completion.
• Manage inventory of medical supplies and coordinate replenishment with Office Manager.
