Job summary

Centerstone seeks a qualified professional to provide crisis response and assessment across in-person, phone, and telehealth formats. You will work to deescalate crises, assess risk, and link clients to appropriate services while documenting care and coordinating with teams.

Strong communication and knowledge of crisis resources are essential. Requires a Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience in crisis work or social services.

  • Bachelor's degree required. Experience in substance use, recovery, crisis work, social work, or social services preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis response and assessment face-to-face, by phone, and via telehealth.
  • Make thorough risk assessments for self-harm or harm to others.
  • Document follow-up needs and ensure timely data entry.
  • Deescalate crises and arrange appropriate referrals for least restrictive treatment.
  • Maintain professional interactions with Centerstone and external partners.
  • Attend team meetings, supervision, and online trainings as required.
  • Create cooperative atmosphere with departments, agencies, clients and the public.
  • Provide coverage beyond scheduled hours as needed by the crisis service supervisor.

SUMMARY OF POSITION

Responsible for providing face to face, phone, and telehealth crisis response and assessment services to those individuals who are experiencing any mental health crisis. Provides support and linkage to other area resources with follow up services to individuals in crisis and their families. Represents Centerstone in a professional manner when interacting with external entities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide coverage of crisis service beyond scheduled work hour/shifts and as assigned by crisis service supervisor.
  • Maintain accurate records of all contacts and enter all data in a timely manner.
  • Client’s follow-up needs are documented for Team follow-up.
  • Deescalates crisis situations as needed.
  • Thorough assessment of risk of harm to self or others is clearly documented and plan to assure safety is thorough and feasible.
  • Make appropriate referrals for least restrictive treatment possible to ensure psychiatric needs are being met as evidenced by documentation.
  • Clinician makes every effort to respond to calls promptly.
  • Creates an atmosphere of cooperation with Centerstone departments, community agencies, mental health consumers, and the public at large.
  • Attend all team meetings, clinical supervision and completes online trainings as required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
  • Effectively communicate via written, verbal, in person and virtual methods.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and competency in the utilization of Centerstone programs and other community resources.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention skills.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education Bachelor's degree required. Experience equivalency may be considered in place of education. Experience Two years of related work or related college experience regarding substance use, recovery, crisis work, social work, or social services field preferred.
